 Post subject: Zanzibar: General Terms and Locations

Zanzibar is the first map that everyone in the Bible Black Clan needs to learn. So, here are the basics to help everyone communicate effectively.

Directions:
The beach is south, the power station is north. Please tell your team mates directions like "North of the fan" or "East of the sniper perch." Do not tell anyone "to the right of the fan" as that is just confusing for everyone. Do not ever use right or left when communicating.

Territories:
1. Control Tower
2. Camp Froman
3. Base
4. Sea Wall
5. Gate
Learn these territory names and locations, as those are the names that will pop up on your screen when a territory gets controlled.

Landmarks:
1. The Fan
2. The Beach
3. The Ramp (This is the place where you have to shoot the bracket to lower the ramp.)
4. The switch (This is the switch that opens the gate.)
5. The gate

Key items:
1. Sword. This is beneath the fan.
2. Sniper Rifles. There is one at Camp Froman and one at the Sea Wall.
3. Rocket Launcher. There is one on the walkway, just north of the fan.

Vehicles: 2 Warthogs and a Ghost.

I was messing around in zanzibar the other day trying to figure out how to get to places that i shouldnt. The first place i found out how to get on to is the tower where the active camo is. (what you need - plasma grenades)

To get on top you must go up to the tower and go out towards the ramp. then you gotta jump onto the black and yellow caution divider and throw a plasma grenade right in front of you. If you time it right, you should jump and be at the peak of your jump when the grenade explodes and that should give you an extra boost to get on top of the "shed" (this can also be done with a rocket launcher but its a bit trickyer). NOTE: dont do this unless you have a sniper rifle and/or rocket launcher or else it is completely useless.

The second place i figured out how to get on to is the roof of the defenders building
(what you need: rocket launcher)
This is a little harder than the other exploit cause you only get two chance to do it correctly. First off you have to get the rocket launcher. To get on top of the roof you have to go to the right side of the building (near the gate) and go up the slope into the building. Before you go inside, turn right and jump on to the thing above the window. Already you might notice that you are very close to the roof but just barely out of reach. Before you do the next step make sure when you jump you dont hit the ledge of the building (cause that will mess you up big time). Position your self so that you are facing the beach and are at the very end of the window thing. Next, look down and aim for the edge of the window thing. Jump and fire at the peak of your jump or else you will commit suicide. If you do it correctly you should be able to go on top of the roof and have a great perspective of your opponents and their plans. The best thing about this spot is that there is a hole in the roof of the building so you can see into it and guard it from above.

Oh and if you didnt already know, you can throw flag thru the gate if the gate isnt open...
I got a bunch of other little secrets and stuff that ill let you know later but learn those first!

you can also use grenades to get to the top part. I think it's much easier. pretty much the same thing cept you throw a grenade wait like a sec jump and then hear the explosion and press foward and you should be on the roof. on defense what was working for us was just everyone get their weapons and run back in. Shoto was getting rocket launcher Raoh was getting shot gun Alpha was getting Sniper and I would get the Sword. Once that happened everone would run back to the base and turtle with exception of alpha who stayed outside sniping guys. Shote would shoot rockets at Vehicles and me and raoh stayed inside killing any wannabe hero's . On offense it was pretty much the same thing. Alpha went to get sniper, roman went to get other sniper. Shoto and me went to get INvisy and sword. Shoto would get invisy and run in to try to get the flag through the gate, while i would try to back him up. If the flag was ever outside the gate Alpha or roman would pick it up, while everyone else died around him try to cover him. :D pretty standard stuff i think.

I know I'm not in the clan but I really like Zanzibar.

You can get up in the outer circle of the fan on both sides. Stand at the bottom and ride a fan blade up. Push towards the center of the fan until you can move. Run a few steps and turn towards the outside of the fan. When you see the grating, run and crouch jump off the end of the blade. You can just squeeze in there.

Stay crouched and be careful of the blades because they will sometimes give you a little nudge.

To get on the other side, ride the blade up but run all the way to the center of the fan. As a blade comes down the other side, jump out and run along it's trailing edge. Crouch jump off the end and land in the grating. This one is a little trickier because the back of the blade is so thin.

In ctf, if you drop the flag outside the base, be ready to get it on the respawn. Have at least one guy head inside the base and watch the flag's meter. As soon as it resets, grab it and run. In my experience, defenders don't run back early enough to defend it on the respawn. This tactic also works great for neutral bombs on midship and, to a lesser extent, beaver creek.

Now for the totally useless stuff. You can put warthogs and ghosts both in the seawall cave and in the center of the fan. The cave is kind of fun because you can just sit in there and destroy people who try to run through. The fan and ramp just make a lot of noise when you put the warthog up there.

On offense, I immediately take a ghost through the fan and to the east side. Glance up as you go in to see if they have the rocket yet. If so, bail out and run. Usually I can get in that upstairs entrance on the east and get the button. To be a little safer, we have one guy go get the sniper rifle on the seawall and take out the rocket guy.
